LG said the broadcaster has been developing its system for the launch of Sky 3D, Europe's first dedicated 3-D TV channel, in April. In January Sky installed TVs in nine selected pubs to screen the Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester United. LG said this was the world's first live 3-D TV sports broadcast to a public audience. LG will provide more TVs to Sky “while expanding cooperation in our 3-D business”, a spokeswoman said, declining to disclose the cost. The deal with Sky is part of the Korean firm's strategy to highlight sporting events on its 3-D TVs. In early March it agreed to supply 3-D TVs to India's biggest media and entertainment group Valuable, which plans to broadcast the final four Premier League cricket matches in April. And in the United States the company has teamed up with CBS Sports and the National Collegiate Athletic Association to screen the final four men's basketball championship games in 3-D.
