Pongpol Kulchairattana won the men's 50 meters pistol shooting to give Thailand its first gold of the day, followed by cyclist Jutatip Maneephan, who won the women's 116.1-kilometer massed start. Vietnam also increased its overnight tally by one with a gold in the women's team 10-meter running target mixed shooting. Later Monday, 10 golds will be decided in athletics including high jump and the men's and women's 4x400 relay. Also up for grabs are six golds in Muay Thai — or kickboxing — a sport in which Thailand dominates. A further six gold medals will be decided in swimming, a sport traditionally dominated by Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. The individual and team golf finals are also scheduled for later Monday. On Sunday, it was weightlifters and athletes who led Thailand's domination. Khunchai Nuchpum won the men's above 94-kilogram weightlifting, Suthiphon Watthanakasikam took the gold in the below 94-kg category and Pitaya Tibnoke took the 85-kg class. Thailand's athletics golds were won by Theerayut Philakong in triple jump with a meet record of 16.51 meters, Chatchawal Polyiam in shot put with another meet record throw of 17.59 and Narongdech Janjai in 400 meters hurdles.
