China coach threatens to quit before Olympics

BEIJING -- The French-born coach of China’s struggling women’s national soccer team has threatened to resign unless officials replace the team’s Chinese manager, newspapers reported Sunday. Former France coach Elisabeth Loisel was hired in October with just nine months to prepare China for the Beijing Olympics in August. She is the team’s seventh head coach in four years.
