Kings pull off another stunning win, beat Ducks

ANAHEIM, California -- Los Angeles' Marian Gaborik scored with a tying goal with seven seconds left to force overtime, and then scored the winner in the extra period to give the Kings a 3-2 win over neighbor Anaheim on Saturday, extending the Kings' stunning playoff run and taking the opening game of the second-round series.

In the day's other game, Boston came from two goals down in the third period to overrun Montreal, winning 5-2 to square their series at 1-1.

Los Angeles' Alec Martinez gave the Kings a 1-0 lead before Matt Beleskey tied it in the first period for Anaheim.

That score held until 11:52 left in the third period when 43-year-old Teemu Selanne beat L.A. goaltender Jonathan Quick between the pads for a go-ahead goal.

That looked like giving victory to the Ducks but the Kings pulled Quick for a sixth attacker with 1:22 left and were rewarded when Mike Richards took a shot from along the left boards, and Gaborik wristed the rebound past Jonas Hiller and into the net.

The overtime winner came when Gaborik redirected Anze Kopitar's shot.

It was L.A.'s fifth straight win in the playoffs, having recovered from 3-0 against San Jose in the opening round to win that series 4-3.

Boston scored four goals in quick time to stun Montreal and tie the Eastern Conference semifinal series.

The Bruins trailed 3-1 with just over nine minutes remaining before Dougie Hamilton scored, then Patrice Bergeron tied it with 5:43 remaining.

Reilly Smith then scored the go-ahead goal with 3:22 left, wristing a cross-ice pass from Torey Krug past Canadiens goalie Carey Price. Milan Lucic added an empty-netter with 66 seconds left.

Earlier, Thomas Vanek twice tipped P.K. Subban's slap shots into the net, and Mike Weaver also scored for the Canadiens.

Games 3 and 4 are in Montreal on Tuesday and Thursday.
