Thompson's 2 lift Tampa Bay over Montreal

MONTREAL--Nate Thompson scored twice, including the winner at 4:36 of overtime, to give the Tampa Bay Lightning a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday afternoon.

Ben Bishop stopped 28 shots for Tampa Bay, which snapped a two-game losing streak.

Daniel Briere scored for Montreal. Carey Price made 34 saves.

Thompson scored the clincher when Alex Killorn found him all alone in from of Price.

The Lightning have a five-point advantage over the Canadiens in the Atlantic Division.

After the Lightning took a 1-0 lead in the second period, Briere tied it at 7:25 of the third, taking a cross-ice pass from captain Brian Gionta and firing home his ninth of the season over Bishop's shoulder. The goal was Briere's second in as many games.

Thompson was credited with the game's first goal, at 5:58 of the second, after defenseman P.K. Subban put the puck in his own net.

Flyers 2, Kings 0 Steve Mason posted his second shutout in three games with 35 saves and Wayne Simmonds scored his 100th NHL goal, leading Philadelphia over Los Angeles.

It was the 22nd career shutout and third this season for Mason, who stopped 33 shots in a 5-0 win against Detroit last Tuesday after getting pulled by coach Craig Berube in two of his previous three starts. Mason got a break with less than 3{ minutes left, when Justin Williams tried a wraparound and hit the left post.

Claude Giroux added his 17th goal on a power play with 1:58 left, converting a cross-ice pass at the left of the crease from Scott Hartnell while Matt Greene was serving an interference penalty.

Bruins 4, Oilers 0 David Krejci scored a second-period power-play goal and Chad Johnson made 22 saves for his second career shutout as Boston earned a victory over Edmonton.
