O'Reilly helps power Colorado past Florida

SUNRISE, Florida -- Colorado's Ryan O'Reilly had a goal and an assist as the Avalanche won 3-2 at Florida on Friday, moving within seven points of the NHL Central Division lead.
Among the day's other games, Detroit finally strung together successive home wins by downing Montreal, and Jaromir Jagr climbed the list of career assists as he helped New Jersey defeat Washington.
Colorado's Jamie McGinn and Paul Stastny also scored for the Avalanche, who have won five of their past six.
Scottie Upshall scored both goals for Florida.
Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg, Nicklas Kronwall and Gustav Nyquist each had a goal and an assist in the Red Wings' 4-1 win over Montreal.
Riley Sheahan also scored for Detroit, which had not won successive home games since October.
Brendan Gallagher scored the sole goal for Montreal.
New Jersey beat Washington 2-1, with Jaromir Jagr setting up two goals to move level with former teammate Mario Lemiuex for 10th on the NHL's career assists list with 1,033.
The 41-year-old Jagr is seven behind Marcel Dionne for ninth place.
Stephen Gionta and Adam Henrique scored for the Devils, who have earnt a point in eight of nine games.
Jason Chimera scored for Washington, who have lost seven straight; their longest skid in four years.
Calgary's Sean Monahan scored the shootout winner, spoiling Eric Nystrom's four-goal game in the Flames' 5-4 victory over Nashville.
Phoenix held off Edmonton 4-3, with Mike Ribeiro having a goal and an assist.
