Crosby alight as Penguins down Avalanche

PITTSBURGH -- Sidney Crosby had two goals and an assist for Pittsburgh in a 4-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, as the Penguins retained a share of the NHL Eastern Conference lead.

Crosby scored in the first period, added an empty-net goal, and assisted on Bill Guerin's tally to give him 11 points in three games.

Pittsburgh has won six of seven and five straight at home.

T.J. Galiardi scored for Colorado, which has only one win in its past six.
