It was his 11th goal in his past nine games. The Calgary captain scored the Flames' first goal just 13 seconds after the opening faceoff. He tied it at 2-2 during a 5-on-3 power play 6:51 into the second. Daymond Langkow scored a key short-handed goal for Calgary to break a 2-2 tie early in the third period. David Moss also scored for the Flames. Drew Doughty and Alexander Frolov scored for the Kings. Stars 5, Devils 3 In Dallas, defenseman Stephane Robidas had two goals and two assists to push Dallas past New Jersey. Rookie Tom Wandell scored the tiebreaking goal for Dallas midway through the third period. Mike Ribeiro and rookie Warren Peters also scored for the Stars. For the Devils, Brian Rolston scored twice, and Travis Zajac added a goal. Sharks 3, Ducks 2 In Anaheim, California, Dany Heatley scored his NHL-leading 18th goal as San Jose pipped Anaheim, Heatley also set up Joe Thornton's go-ahead goal in the third period. Ryane Clowe also scored for the Sharks. Anaheim's goals came from James Wisniewski and Ryan Whitney. Penguins 3, Thrashers 2 In Atlanta, defenseman Martin Skoula scored twice as Pittsburgh held on to edge Atlanta. Evgeni Malkin added a goal for the Penguins. Chris Thorburn and Maxim Afinogenov scored for Atlanta. Coyotes 3, Flyers 1 In Glendale, Arizona, Keith Yandle scored a power-play goal with 10 minutes remaining to give Phoenix victory over Philadelphia. Matthew Lombardi had a power-play goal and an assist for Phoenix, while Shane Doan added the late empty-netter. Scott Hartnell scored for Philadelphia. Blackhawks 5, Oilers 2 In Edmonton, Alberta, Chicago beat Edmonton for its sixth straight victory. Jonathan Toews had two goals and an assist, while Patrick Kane, Kris Versteeg and John Madden also scored. Edmonton's Sheldon Souray and Dustin Penner scored but the Oilers have now lost five of their past six. |
