Rangers get shootout win over SenatorsPenguins 6, Bruins 5, OT At Pittsburgh, Pascal Dupuis scored his second goal of the game 1:24 into overtime and Pittsburgh welcomed back star forward Evgeni Malkin by snapping its four-game losing streak. Malkin, the reigning NHL scoring champion, had three assists in his return to the lineup after he missed seven games because of a shoulder injury. Kings 2, Lightning 1, SO At Tampa, Florida, Anze Kopitar scored the lone shootout goal for Los Angeles. Drew Doughty scored in regulation for the Kings, who won for the second time in five games. Jonathan Quick stopped 28 shots. The Lightning got a goal from Ryan Malone, and Antero Niittymaki made 29 saves for Tampa Bay. Sharks 3, Blues 1 At St. Louis, Dany Heatley and Jed Ortmeyer scored goals 16 seconds apart in the second period as San Jose defeated St. Louis. Joe Thornton added an empty-net goal in the third period and Evgeni Nabokov stopped 38 shots as the Sharks improved to 9-0-2 in their past 11 games. Thornton scored with 41.2 seconds remaining. Predators 2, Canadiens 0 At Nashville, Steve Sullivan scored two goals and Pekka Rinne made 20 saves to lead the Predators over Montreal. Carey Price made a career-high 53 saves in the loss. Nashville was outshot 55-20 but won its second straight and for the sixth time in eight games. Montreal has dropped four of six. The 55 shots are a Predators franchise record. Coyotes 3, Stars 2 At Glendale, Arizona, Robert Lang had a goal and an assist, and Ilya Bryzgalov made 26 saves to lift Phoenix past Dallas. Canucks 8, Avalanche 2 At Denver, Henrik Sedin had his first NHL hat trick and Roberto Luongo stopped 32 shots, helping Vancouver end a three-game skid. Marek Svatos broke up Luongo's shutout bid early in the third period when he knocked in a rebound for a power-play goal. Luongo made his third appearance since coming back from a broken rib that sidelined him for about two weeks. He wasn't tested much until the third period.
