Tseng comes 26th in final LPGA tour event of 2012CNA TAIPEI--World No. 1 Yani Tseng of Taiwan carded a 2-under 70 in the final round of the LPGA's season-ending CME Group Titleholders event Sunday to finish tied for 26th, 13 shots behind winner Na Yeon Choi of South Korea.
November 20, 2012, 12:07 am TWN Tseng, who was never in contention at the top of the leaderboard after starting the tournament with rounds of 75 and 73, played better on the final two days to finish at 1-under 287 for her four rounds, and it could have been better. After starting her final round with a par, the 23-year-old Taiwanese birdied the next four holes to move to 3-under for the tournament. Tseng started the season strongly, winning three of the LPGA's first five events, but she slumped during the summer, finishing out of the top 10 11 straight times, hard to believe for a player who won 12 events worldwide in 2011. For all the ups and downs, however, she still finished fourth on the LPGA money list and fourth in the final LPGA Player of the Year standings while maintaining her world No. 1 ranking throughout 2012.
