Tseng to continue bid for next LPGA title in Japan

TAIPEI -- World No. 1 female golfer Yani Tseng will again try to seek her first LPGA title in seven months at the upcoming Mizuno Classic in Japan, and to earn more points for the Rolex Player of the Year competition.

Tseng, who finished third in the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship on Oct. 28, will compete in the US$1.2 million LPGA event at Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club in Mie Prefecture, which will be held Nov. 2-4. She was scheduled to fly to Japan yesterday.

Tseng has finished outside the top 10 rankings during the last 11 LPGA tournaments prior to the South Korean and Taiwan events, and has missed the cut three times, after commencing the year by winning three of the LPGA's first five events.
