Yani Tseng thanks fans for support after LPGA event

TAIPEI--Taiwanese female golfer Yani Tseng, who finished third in the just-concluded Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship, said via Facebook yesterday that the support of her fans is the most powerful motivation keeping her going.

"Thank you for allowing me to be able to compete with joy again and enjoy every moment on the course," Tseng said. "Even though I did not win the title, I feel no regret throughout the tournament because I did my best on every shot."

The 23-year-old expressed her gratitude to her fans.

The Taiwan native carded a four round total of 15-under 273 in the US$2 million event, four strokes behind Norwegian Suzann Pettersen, who has won two straight LPGA competitions in the Asia tour this year — the LPGA KEB HanaBank Championship in South Korea and the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship in Taiwan.

World No. 1 Tseng also congratulated her good friend for her performance.
