Out-of-form Tseng, caddie part ways after 16 victories together

The China Post news staff--The world's top-ranked golfer, Yani Tseng (曾雅妮) has decided to part ways with her caddie, Jason Hamilton, after 16 wins together. She called him after the U.S. Open, saying that she would like to have a break. The two have worked closely with each other for two years.

According to the Golfweek reports, Hamilton wasn't surprised at all. “Things have been weird for four or five weeks,” he said. Tseng's manager, Erine Huang stated that Tseng wanted a caddie from the PGA Tour or Champion Tour, but she didn't want to recruit someone from her LPGA players.

Tseng battled a slump in June after winning three of the first five events on the 2012 LPGA Tour. Her performance did not deliver as expected, ending outside the top 50 at the Wegman's LPGA Championship, and elimination at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship.

She could not defend her title at the U.S. Women's Open, finishing in 50th, and also missing the chance to win the fourth major title in her career. So far she has won championships of the three major titles, the Kraft Nabisco Championship, LPGA Championship, and the Ricoh Women's British Open.

It has been a difficult struggle for Tseng this year, with her saying at an interview that “my confidence is down to zero.” She is trying to find ways to rebuild her golf career, commenting on her Facebook that she will try her best to come back better and stronger.

She will now prepare to enter the Evian Masters golf tournament in late July, with a new caddie, apparently.
