S. Korean boxing community to get probe from IBA

SEOUL -- Amateur boxing's world governing body is to probe alleged rule violations that led to the suspension of South Korean amateur boxers from its international competitions, officials said Tuesday.

The International Boxing Association (IBA) has agreed to send investigators to South Korea on July 7 at the request of the Korea Sports Council (KSC).

“We hope the global body will lift the ban early because it was imposed without a proper and fair investigation,” the KSC's director-general Kim Sung-Chul told AFP.
