Steve Novak says Lin helped his performance with Knicks

TAIPEI -- Utah Jazz forward Steve Novak said yesterday in Taipei that Jeremy Lin (林書豪) helped his performance when the two were teammates on the New York Knicks.

Speaking while visiting Cathay Financial Holdings Co. (國泰金控), Novak credited Lin's selfless passing and strategies by former Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni as two reasons behind his own performance on the team.

Novak is in Taiwan to guest coach a youth basketball camp sponsored by the financial company.

Lin, who signed on with the Los Angeles Lakers this month, also guest coached at the July 19-20 camp.

The two basketball stars visited Shilin Night Market, one of Taipei's top tourist draws, Sunday, where they played shooting games with airsoft guns.

Novak said he found the trip fun and stuffed himself with tasty food.

Novak and Lin played for the New York Knicks in the spring of 2012, when Lin shot to NBA fame and started the craze known as “Linsanity.”
