NBA's 'Birdman' pushes local kids to chase dreams

TAIPEI--Miami Heat forward Chris Andersen visited an interactive digital exhibition hall in Taipei Friday, where he encouraged local children to pursue their dreams.

The NBA's “Birdman” arrived in Taiwan Tuesday to take part in charity events and share his NBA experience.

He and Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin accompanied a group of children to tour the Pavilion of Dreams, an attraction at the Taipei Expo Park, where Hau praised Andersen for having the perseverance to pursue his basketball dreams.

Andersen started out in the Chinese Basketball Association and then the American Development League before joining the NBA in 2001, where he eventually helped his team take the 2012-2013 NBA Championship.
