Quartet of NBA players set to arrive in Taiwan

TAIPEI -- NBA stars Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Blake Griffin are scheduled to arrive in Taiwan this week to promote the “Summer Nights” event.

Durant is set to arrive Tuesday and will chat with Taiwanese fans via Google+ Hangout at 6 p.m. before opening the “Summer Nights” event in Taipei's Xinyi District at 8 p.m., according to Nike, the event's sponsor.

Anthony, Paul and Griffin will arrive on July 19 and attend “Summer Nights” the following night.

They also plan to meet Taiwanese fans on Google+ Hangout after their arrival and throw out the first pitch before a Chinese Professional Baseball League game between the Lamigo Monkeys and the Brother Elephants in Xinzhuang on July 20.

“Summer Nights” is a Nike initiative that encourages Taiwanese youths to play sports every night during the summer months when temperatures are cooler.
