TAIPEI--Jeremy Lin, the first NBA player of Taiwanese descent, is set to make his debut in the postseason run after the Houston Rockets beat the Phoenix Suns in a dramatic 101-98 home game on Tuesday.
“Crazy win ... and we clinched the PLAYOFFS tonight!!” Lin posted on his Facebook page after Tuesday's game, which marked Houston's first playoff berth since the 2008-2009 season.
“I'm going to be really excited, because I'm going to be able to (actually play in the playoffs) this year. It will be my first taste,” in was quoted as saying on NBA.com.
“I actually didn't think I'd be excited ... but now that it's actually here, I'm actually really excited because no one really gave us a chance going into this season,” said Lin, who missed last year's postseason games with his team at the time — the New York Knicks —due to an injury.
The Rockets reached the milestone on a goaltending violation committed by the Suns.
Before the final whistle was blown, Rockets James Harden made a last-second three-point attempt, which bounced high off the rim, and Jermaine O'Neal of the Suns touched the ball while it was still on the rim.
