Jeremy Lin to perform in NBA preseason match in Taiwan

TAIPEI--Taiwanese-American NBA star Jeremy Lin will be coming to Taiwan again in October, this time for the first NBA preseason game being held in the country since 2009, the promoter said yesterday.

Bros Sports Marketing said that after four years of trying to get the NBA back to Taiwan, the league has finally agreed to stage a preseason game in Taiwan between the Houston Rockets and the Indiana Pacers on October 13.

Taiwan is no stranger to hosting NBA stars. In 2008, an NBA Madness Taiwan Tour was held in Taiwan, featuring former All-Star Scottie Pippen and former NBA player B.J. Armstrong.

Taiwan held its first-ever NBA preseason game, between the Denver Nuggets and the Indiana Pacers, in 2009, drawing a capacity crowd of more than 13,000 at Taipei Arena.

Bros Sports Marketing said it has yet to decide on the time, location, and ticket price for the 2013 preseason game in Taiwan.

Lin enjoyed a meteoric rise in early 2012 after his breakout performance with the New York Knicks. Later that year, he signed a three-year, US$25 million contract with the Houston Rockets after the Knicks failed to match the offer.
