Lin seals win on Hornets with career-high 6 steals

TAIPEI--The Houston Rockets played their best game in almost three weeks on Friday against the Hornets in New Orleans, pulling put of their worst slump of the season with a 100-82 win.

Jeremy Lin spurred the team early, aggressively creating plays for both himself and his teammates, hitting 13 points, eight assists, five boards and six steals, tying his career high.

Lin averages 1.96 steals per game, ranking No. 3 in the Western Conference. The last time he made six steals was when the team faced Denver Nuggets early this season.

James Harden, who has been chosen as an All Star reserve for the Western Conference, scored 30 points, Patrick Patterson 18, and Carlos Delfino 14.

Harden made a season-high eight turnovers, but also handed out eight assists. He scored an impressive 12 points in the third quarter, to give his team an 80-65 lead.

“Guys found me. We got some shots to fall. This game was probably our best defensive game all year as far as four quarters really locking in,” Harden said. “It's just a good feeling when you play well, when you haven't been playing well on both ends of the floor.”

The win was Houston's second only road victory against a Western Conference team this year, bringing its score to 23-22 for the season.

The team will play Eastern Conference superpower the Brooklyn Nets on the Rockets' home turf Saturday.
