Hornets 97, Timberwolves 96 At Minneapolis, Chris Paul streaked past Jonny Flynn on an inbounds pass to hit a lay-up with 1.4 seconds left and lift New Orleans to a win.

Paul finished with 15 points and 14 assists, while Peja Stojakovic scored 21 points and reserve Marcus Thornton added 20 for New Orleans, which snapped a five-game road losing streak.

Al Jefferson had 17 points and a season-high 16 rebounds and Ryan Gomes scored 21 points for the Timberwolves.

Rockets 95, Cavaliers 85 At Houston, Aaron Brooks scored 27 points and Trevor Ariza scored 26 as Houston held LeBron James and Cleveland to one of its worst offensive performances.

James scored 27 points, but went only 8 for 21 from the field. No other Cleveland starter reached double figures and the Cavs matched their season-low point total. They out-rebounded Houston 47-37, but committed 20 turnovers and mustered only 19 points in both the first and third quarters. Shane Battier scored 14 points and played effective defense on James all night.

Spurs 118, Kings 106 At San Antonio, Richard Jefferson broke out of a slump with 23 points, including a dunk to cap a 14-point run at the end of the first half, as San Antonio ended a three-game skid.

Tony Parker had 18 points and 11 assists for the Spurs, who beat Sacramento for the second time this season and seventh consecutive meeting. Manu Ginobili added 20 points, including five in a key late-game run. Lakers 101, Jazz 77 At Los Angeles, Kobe Bryant scored 27 points, and Pau Gasol had 19 points and 12 rebounds as the Los Angeles Lakers rolled off 19 consecutive points in the fourth quarter of their 10th straight victory.

Ron Artest scored 17 points for the Lakers, who improved to an NBA-best 17-3 by holding the Jazz to six points and two field goals in a comically one-sided fourth quarter.

Deron Williams scored 17 points for the Jazz, while Mehmet Okur and C.J. Miles scored 14 points each.
