Lewis' 22 points lead Magic over Rockets

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Rashard Lewis scored 22 points and Marcin Gortat had 14 points, 14 rebounds and six blocked shots to help the Orlando Magic beat the Houston Rockets 113-104 in a preseason game Friday night.

Gortat, who started while All-Star center Dwight Howard rested, was a spark at both ends of the court in the fourth quarter when the Magic outscored the Rockets 37-26. The third-year pro from Poland scored 11 points, had three rebounds and blocked five shots in the final quarter.

Chase Budinger led the Rockets with 17 points while Aaron Brooks, Kyle Lowry and rookie Jermaine Taylor all had 14. Most of the key players for Houston didn't play, including Luis Scola, Tracy McGrady, Shane Battier and Brent Barry.

Raptors 112, Wolves 97At Minneapolis, Chris Bosh had nine points and seven rebounds in his first preseason game and Andrea Bargnani led Toronto with 21 points as the Raptors beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 112-97 on Friday night.

Bosh was 4 for 8 from the field in 11 minutes in the first half after being sidelined all of training camp with a strained hamstring. Three of his four baskets came on drives, and he added a 3-pointer in the first quarter. He even drew a double technical for jawing with Ryan Hollins after a scrum in the paint.

Corey Brewer led Minnesota with 16 points while Al Jefferson and rookie Jonny Flynn each had 14 as new coach Kurt Rambis gave the home crowd its first look at his rebuilt roster.

Warriors 110, Lakers 91 At Inglewood, Monta Ellis scored 24 points and the Golden State Warriors ruined the Los Angeles Lakers return to the “Fabulous” Forum with a 110-91 preseason victory Friday night.

Andrew Bynum lead Los Angeles with 19 points and six rebounds while Kobe Bryant had 15 points on 5-for-11 shooting as the Lakers lost at the site of some of the franchise's greatest victories.

The Forum was the Lakers' home court from Dec. 31, 1967 to May 23, 1999 and it provided the backdrop for six NBA championships.

Clippers 97, Blazers 85 At Los Angeles, Rasual Butler scored 14 points to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to their first preseason victory, 97-85 over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night.

After Portland took a 5-4 lead, the Clippers never trailed again.

Al Thornton, Chris Kaman and Eric Gordon all had 12 points for the Clippers (1-1), while Sebastian Telfair had 10 assists.

LaMarcus Aldridge led the Trail Blazers (2-1) with 13 points while former Clippers' point guard Andre Miller added 11.

Aldridge scored six straight points in Portland's 10-0 run that cut the Clippers' lead to 59-55 in the third quarter. But the Clippers answered with an 8-2 spurt capped by Gordon's layup.
