Kansas City suspends Johnson for one game

KANSAS CITY, Missouri -- Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson was suspended by the National Football League club for one game because of poor conduct.

Johnson issued an apology through the team on Tuesday for remarks he made since Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers. On his Twitter account, Johnson posted demeaning comments toward Kansas City coach Todd Haley and used a gay slur in another Twitter post.

The team investigated and decided to suspend Johnson. The Chiefs have a bye this week before taking on Jacksonville.
