Seventh military social science conference to open tomorrow The 7th Military Social Science Conference will open tomorrow morning in Taipei with military leaders, scholars and researchers attending. They will deliver research reports and exchange views on the functions and utilization of military social science studies in modern times and society. Organized by the Center of Military Social Science Studies at Fu Hsing Kang College, the one-day conference will be held at the Ching-kuo Hall of the Chientan Overseas Youth Activity Center on Chungshan North Road. Gen. Chen Pang-chih, chief of the General Political Warfare Bureau at the Ministry of National Defense, will give a speech at the opening ceremony. Prof. Shao Chung-hai of the National Chengchi University will deliver a keynote speech on the emerging, development, and future prospects of military social science studies. Prof. Kao Yung-kuang of the Chengchi University, Profs. Wang Shih-fan and Wang Han-kuo of the Foguang College, Prof. Chan Hou-sheng of the National Taiwan University, Amb. and Chairman Stephen S.F. Chen of the ROC Strategy Research Society, and Director Chang Jui-bing of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall will each preside over one of the six symposiums. Scholars from major military research organizations and civilian higher-learning institutions will take part in the discussions. The wide variety of subjects to be discussed cover the fields of military philosophy and history, military politics and management, military communications and psychology, political warfare and intelligence, and military arts, literature and physical education.
