Taipei food show to be bigger and more delicious than ever
TAIPEI--This year's annual Taipei International Food Show, scheduled to open on June 27, will be bigger than ever, according to Taiwan's trade promotion body.
The trade show, now in its 22nd year, has attracted local and foreign exhibitors from 30 countries occupying nearly 3,000 booths, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council said.
To accommodate the growing demand, this year the council has expanded the venue from one exhibition hall to two.
Both the Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall and Exhibition Hall 1 will be in use, the organizers said.
The four-day event, which coincides with three other related packaging, processing and machinery shows, will run until June 30. It is expected to attract over 5,000 international buyers and 35,000 local visitors, the council said.
In addition to new product launches, the organizers will also host cooking shows, competitions, and other promotional activities during the show.
“We'd like to provide visitors a wide array of choices, hopefully meeting everyone's need,” said Alice Wang, a council staff.
Seminars on various topics will also take place, including non-thermal food processing, the Taiwan-China food market and fishery trade, as well as food grade lubricants, the organizers said.
