Over 200 people evacuated as as HK blows up wartime bomb HONG KONG -- More than 200 people were evacuated and a section of busy highway closed off when an undetonated World War II bomb was found in Hong Kong Tuesday. It was dug up by workers at a construction site near the city's Island Eastern Corridor highway, a police spokesman said. The road was sealed off and residents in a nearby high-rise block evacuated as bomb disposal experts were called to the scene. The device, which had a diameter of 15 centimeters, was blown up in a controlled explosion. Undetonated bombs from World War II turn up periodically across the city.
