The Ma Ying-jeou administration has been adamant that it will not open Taiwan any further to Chinese agricultural products in a proposed economic cooperation framework agreement (ECFA) with China, a ledge that has been received with skepticism by the potential deal's critics.

The media report said Taiwan was opening its doors to feed corn and other grains to curry favor with China, but the Council of Agriculture argued Sunday that Chinese feed corn was being imported on a spot basis to meet emergency needs.
