Changhua County sets up social security service center CHANGHUA, Taiwan -- The Changhua County government has set up a family care center that pools the resources of civic groups and private charitable organizations with the aim of strengthening social security in the central county. At an opening ceremony for the center earlier in the month, Changhua Magistrate Cho Po-yuan presented a check for NT$44,560,018 to Huang Bi-hsia, director of the Ministry of the Interior's Department of Social Affairs, to help people affected in August by Typhoon Morakot. The money was donated by residents of Changhua County. Meanwhile, an integrated social security network set up by the new center was also launched to provide assistance to county residents and people in need, Cho said. The center is designed to provide social care services via a single channel that integrates the efforts of the county's social, health, education, labor and police departments, all of which serve the people, according to the city government. |
