The parking space that each car could enjoy has increased to a new high of 0.76, revealed the research conducted by Taiwan Real Estate Company.

According to the study, 10 years ago the corresponding figure for the capital city was 0.52 parking space per car. Yet the number varies for different districts in the city. In Wanhua, the number was smaller than 0.5; in Datong and Daan, the number went up slightly to 0.6.

In newly-developed areas like Nangang and Neihu, each car can easily have a full parking space. The company attributed the reason to a drop in the number of cars and the convenient mass transportation. The number of cars in the city started to shrink after it reached a peak of 732,000 in 2006, according to the statistics from Taipei City.
