52% of job seekers willing to take temporary jobs: survey TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Up to 52 percent of job seekers polled expressed their willingness to accept temporarily-dispatched jobs, which are offered by an increasing number of enterprises, according to findings of a survey conducted by the 360d Human Resources (HR) Co. The survey showed that some 40 percent of enterprises have made available short-term jobs for job seekers, and more and more such temporary jobs will be available in the job market. It was found that some 36 percent of the job seekers polled had remained jobless for four to six months, followed by 23 percent who were unemployed for under three months, and 17 percent whose unemployment period lasted over one year. And up to 60 percent said their remaining joblessness was due mainly to the failure to find satisfactory jobs. They were reluctant to take jobs requiring longer working time but offering lower pay, mainly because they can receive unemployment benefits for a maximum of nine months. |
