At 12 o'clock on July 1st, more than twenty white-collar male workers mixed among legions of women poured into the food area at Shisegae Department Store in Seoul, South Korea, indicating that men are more willing than ever to cast piles of bills for themselves.

According to Shisegae Department Store, though not as crucial as women are, that men in their thirties contribute to 15% of its annual revenue is an indication that they are starting to value themselves.

Psychologists also point out that men aged around thirty are the ones who purchase independently without women's help.

Those white-collar workers go to department stores are almost single. “Now I go to the department store twice a week; however, I can't spend all the money once I get married in the future,” Jing Hancheng, who works in a securities firm, said.
