TAINAN, Taiwan -- The Tainan City Government is all geared up for its 2009 Tainan International Boat Fair and Oceanic Culture Exhibition, to be held on July 3 to 6 at Anping Harbor. With the heavy backing and full support of Tainan mayor Hsu Tain-tsair, the exhibition aims to promote oceanic industries, Tainan's unique cultural and historic heritage, and its yachting industry all at once, in addition to providing tourists with another choice for summer travel.

To be held mainly around Anping Harbor, the exhibition will showcase a number of luxury yachts, which will be anchored at the harbor. For those who are yachting junkies, there will also be showcased at the exhibition a variety of hardware and accessory products related to yachting, in addition to a range of handicrafts.

There will also be an area reserved for water sports, where visitors can cool down by surfing, diving, or snorkeling. Water sports equipment will also be on sale in the area, so those with an athletic touch are heavily advised to visit.

When the night sets in and the sea breeze gets going, the music will start in the form of a pop concert to be grazed by numerous A-listers including Power Station, Star Reunion, Tank, Claire Kuo, Xiao Yu, Jing Chang, Hsiao Hung-jen, and Sam Lee.

Fans are advised not to miss out on this musical spectacle to be held outdoors under the stars.

And last but not least, a special limited-edition souvenir pack will be handed out throughout the exhibition, which organizers say should not be missed. So for those who are interested in the ocean, historical relics, water sports, or just having a good time, more information may be found on the Tainan city government's website, www.tncg.gov.tw, or via its hotline, (06)298-1000.
