Woman A was caught for stealing underwear totaling more than NT$3,000 at a Taipei department store in April. As she refused to talk, prosecutors assigned her the nickname when remanding her in custody on a theft charge.

Although she gave a birth date and an untraceable name during her detention, the authorities were unable to identify her from the date or from her fingerprints.

The Taipei District Court on Tuesday convicted her of theft and sentenced her to 50 days in jail.

Since she had already been detained for 68 days, she was allowed to go free after the sentencing. The local media said it is the first time an "unidentified" criminal has been convicted.
