Mongolian educator visits Miaoli charity organization MIAOLI, Taiwan -- A prominent educator from Mongolia visited the Miaoli branch of the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF) in northern Taiwan yesterday to exchange views with social welfare workers there. Badrakh Jadambaa, president of the State Pedagogical University of Mongolia, received a warm greeting from TFCF Chairman Lin Porung. Jadambaa is on a short-term academic tour of Taiwan at the invitation of National Chung Cheng University based in Chiayi County in southern Taiwan. Expressing appreciation for the assistance extended by a TFCF center in the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator to underprivileged children and impoverished families in Mongolia, he called for closer cooperation between his university and the TFCF's Ulan Bator center. According to Jadambaa, the TFCF opened its unit in the Mongolian capital nearly four years ago, since which time it has helped more then 4,000 poor Mongolian children to attend school. It has also assisted many homeless people and poor families by offering accommodation and building water supply facilities for them, he added. Jadambaa also expressed hope that Taiwanese welfare organizations, including the TFCF, will provide opportunities allowing students from his university to gain hands-on experience in social service work. |
