The Taipei-based National Applied Research Laboratories (NARL), run by the National Science Council (NSC), is representing the government in the cooperative program, titled “Stanford-Taiwan Biomedical Fellowship.”

On behalf of the Taiwan government, Minister without Portfolio Lin Ferng-ching, heading a group of delegates, including NSC Vice Minister Huang Wen-hsiung and NARL President Juang Jer-nan, signed the cooperative pact with Philip A. Pizzo, dean of the Stanford University School of Medicine.

Under the five year program, the Stanford faculty’s first cooperative project with Taiwan, scholarships will be offered to 40 selected Taiwanese individuals in a wide range of professional fields to embark on one-year training programs at Stanford.
