After four days of frantic fashion activities — eight runway shows, six seminars, special events as well as fashion exhibitions — Taipei IN Style ended successfully on April 20, not only presenting Taiwan's soft power of designing to the world but also attracting tremendous business opportunities as well as a large amount of visitors.
“We are trying to encourage our traditional industry to upgrade through this show,” said Huang Shu-hui (黃淑惠), deputy director of the Fashion Marketing Department at the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF). “We hope that we can introduce the concept of 'branding' into our textile industry and enhance the added value of MIT products.”
This is also the first time that the exhibition took place in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, an area adjacent to many local business districts. This gave visitors, especially foreign buyers, a more complete understanding of Taiwan's market and a more holistic experience of the atmosphere of creativity in the city.
According to Cecilia Liu (劉孔倫), manager of the Apparel & Accessories Exhibition Section of TTF, the federation has already got lots of positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors. There are even many exhibitors who made reservations to have a booth in the next show.
“Everyone is expecting the Fall/Winter Taipei IN Style, and we also welcome everyone to join us this November,” said Huang and Liu. ■
A cocktail corner at Taipei IN Style provided visitors with not only free drinks but also a place to sit and chat. ■
