Entertainers join in YSL f/w fashion show

The gathering was the scene of some serious pulchritude in the form of Patty Hou (侯佩岑) – a former news anchor who is best known for her beauty and her relationship with Taiwanese R&B singer Jay Chou (周杰倫) – and Barbie Hsu (徐熙媛) – an actress and singer who was propelled to fame following her role in Taiwanese drama “Meteor Garden” in 2001.

Also, local actor and model Joe Cheng (鄭元暢) attended the short fashion show, which featured YSL latest collection of Roady handbags – Taipei's new bag obsession.

You know, the one Christy Turlington is showing off in the Fall ads. Everyone from Kate Beckinsale to Kylie Minogue, Mary-Kate Olsen to Leighton Meester, Tilda Swinton to Rachel Bilson, and Selma Blair to Freida Pinto has already made it their arm candy.

Wearing a one piece V-necked dress and proudly carrying her red Roady with a purple handle, Hou made an entrance and said: “I think it's a bold try. A red bag with a purple handle is just the right combination and I know have a good taste in color arrangement.”

Her friend Hsu laughed and remarked: “I am not that good at color combinations, so I picked a more classic color with a black handle.” For the occasion, Hsu was wearing a one-piece flannel jumpsuit, which was classic and retro, just like an intelligence agent in a 007 film, she said.

From singing to acting and writing, Hsu has geared up her career into Taiwan's movie industry in recent years and will soon publish a book about make-up, titled “Mei Rong Da Wang” (美容大王) or the goddess of make-up in English.

Asked about her relationship with Hong Kong actor Louis Koo (古天樂) – the pair has allegedly been together since last year following the filming of “On His Majesty's Secret Service” – Hsu said: “We are just friends. I have been busy with my work, so there is no time for relationship,” but failed to convince the media attending the event.

Hou then cut in and said with a smile: “She and Vic Chou (周渝民) are good friends as well. I just met him a few days ago, and he wanted me to take care of you.”

Hsu then laughed and boldly replied: “If I meet Jay Chou, I would ask him to take very good care of you as well!”
