Militant who kidnapped former PM dies in ItalyAFP ROME--A former Italian far-left militant from the Red Brigades group who took part in the kidnapping and assassination of former prime minister Aldo Moro in 1978 was found dead at his home on Monday, ANSA news agency reported citing the police. Prospero Gallinari, 62, was found in the garage of his home in Reggio Emilia in central Italy. Early reports indicated he died from natural causes.
January 15, 2013, 12:09 am TWN Gallinari, who was let out from prison in the 1990s due to serious heart problems, was part of the group that shot dead Moro's bodyguards during the kidnapping and some former militants say he may also have killed Moro. Another kidnapper, Mario Moretti, later took responsibility for the murder in an interview.
