Greece picks Norwegian contractor to conduct seismic surveys for oil, gasAFP ATHENS--Greece has picked a Norwegian contractor to carry out seismic surveys in the Ionian Sea and south of Crete in search for oil and gas, the environment ministry said on Wednesday.
September 7, 2012, 12:19 am TWN Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) was picked to probe for hydrocarbon caches in a large area between 100 and 400 kilometers (62-248 miles) from the coast of western Greece and Crete, the ministry said. The earmarked area covers 225,000 square kilometers.
