British father in court over Kent car bombing

LONDON -- A man is to appear in court on Tuesday charged with the attempted murder of his wife and her eight-year-old son in a car bombing. Victoria Fabian, 32, suffered serious leg injuries when her car exploded in Vigo, Kent last Friday. She remains in hospital. Doctors say the unborn child was unharmed. Her eight-year-old son, who was with his mother in the vehicle when the blast happened, has been released from hospital.

The boy's father, 32-year-old Nicholas Fabian, is to appear at Dartford Magistrates' Court, police said. Fabian, a former bomb disposal expert, has been charged with the attempted murder of his wife and son and with the unlawful possession of ammunition.

Streets were sealed off after the blast and army bomb disposal experts made sure the area was safe before residents to return home.
