Last Russian doomsday cult members give up

MOSCOW –– The last nine surviving members of a Russian doomsday cult have emerged from a

cave where they had been holed up since last year awaiting the end of the world, Interfax news agency reported Friday. The agency quoted local official Vladimir Provotorov saying that they decided to leave because there was “a real threat of poisoning from toxic corpse fumes” of two deceased cult members rotting in the cave.
