ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia –– The floor of a church filled with a mostly teenage audie

nce of about 1,000 people collapsed during a concert, injuring at least 40 people, one of them seriously, officials said. The youths were at the Central Heights Church to hear the Christian rock band Starfield on Friday night when a large area in front of the stage gave way, police said.

Local health authorities said that more than 40 people received hospital treatment for injuries that included bruises and broken bones. A 41-year-old woman was reported to have suffered critical injuries, police said.
