Passenger removed from trans-Atlantic flight

BOSTON -- US Airways says a London-bound flight made an unscheduled stop after the pilot decided a passenger was being unruly.

Airline spokesman Todd Lehmacher says Flight 728 left Philadelphia Monday night and the pilot diverted it to Boston to have the passenger removed. Lehmacher says the pilot decided to have the man removed before beginning the Atlantic crossing “in the interest of safety.”

The man's name wasn't immediately available, and Lehmacher couldn't say what kind of disturbance he is alleged to have made on the plane. He did say there doesn't appear to have been any kind of terrorist threat.
