Mexican man gets life over people-smuggling tragedy

PHOENIX, Arizona -- A Mexican man who drove a truck full of illegal immigrants involved in a tragic

crash that left nine of his passengers dead, was jailed for life on Thursday, justice officials said.

Adan Pineda-Doval, 22, was found guilty by a federal court in October of multiple counts of transportation of illegal aliens resulting in death following the accident in June 2006 near Yuma, Arizona.

He was charged with causing 10 deaths because one of his victims was pregnant at the time.
