Israeli PM in Jordan for talks with King Abdullah

AMMAN, Jordan -- Jordan’s King Abdullah II said Thursday that for peace in the Middle East, all parties must honor their commitments to a mechanism and specific timeline for a comprehensive settlement to the Arab-Israeli conflict. Abdullah’s comments came during talks in the Red Sea resort of Aqaba with visiting Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

According to a statement from the Royal Palace, Abdullah reiterated Jordan’s opposition to Israeli plans for building settlements on Palestinian territory and said such plans go against what was agreed on at the U.S.-hosted Mideast peace conference in Annapolis, Maryland, last November.
