Taiwanese Association of Andrology tackles impotence with film

Taipei -- The Taiwanese Association of Andrology (TAA) launched an informational short film at a press conference yesterday, urging men who have problems with sexual impotence to go seek help without fear of embarrassment.

The short film, performed by a puppet theater, used humorous ways to discuss this problem which is seen commonly not only in Taiwan but also in most Western countries. The film suggested that men are too shy to go to the doctor and take folk prescriptions instead, a unhealthy concept which may harm one’s sex life, said Dr. Huang Yi-sheng of Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital.

The EDACT under the TAA initiated a study that found over 1.7 million out of a total 6.54 million men aged 30 and above have sexual problems, and that about 74 percent were satisfied with their sexual life.

Huang said that this video will build confidence for men with sexual problems and encourage them to go to the hospital without hesitation.

This short film will be played in most main hospitals and can be viewed on the official website of EDACT, www.edact.org.tw.
