RA requires long-term treatment, physicians said, adding that as long as patients face their diseases proactively and receive continual treatment, their conditions can be kept under control.
Injection pens designed to carry biologic medical products are now available on the market for patients to fight the disease, allowing for greater convenience.
Taiwan Rheumatology Association Chairman Gregory J. Tsay (蔡嘉哲) said, “Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic autoimmune disease, which women between the ages of 30 and 50 are prone to suffer from. Once the disease develops (in a patient), it requires long-term treatment. Oct. 12 marks World Arthritis Day, and this year's theme is 'living better, aging well,' reminding patients to proactively receive continual treatment.”
