The hospital recommended that Chen be given medication and follow-up examinations on a regular basis.
Chen, who is serving an 18.5-year prison term for corruption, has stayed at the hospital since Sept. 21 due to various health complaints, including severe depression, benign enlargement of the prostate and urinary tract and prostate infections.
He was recently seen to have obvious tremors of his right hand, the hospital said.
In addition to neurological examinations, Chen was given a tremorgram, head MRI and nuclear medicine imaging, it said.
The results show that he has not suffered from a stroke or Parkinson's disease, according to the hospital.
