Forty-eight percent of people in the high-rise city of 7 million met the minimum requirement of doing moderate or vigorous physical exercise for 30 minutes at least three times a week, according to the survey by the government's Sports Commission conducted in conjunction with Chinese University researchers.
More than 5,000 people were interviewed for the poll, and of the 52 percent who did too little exercise, 30 percent said they did not have enough time because of work or study, 17.5 percent said they were too tired and 14.6 admitted they were just lazy.
