Bassett Furniture is recalling about 8,900 Chinese-made baby cribs because the bolts can loosen, posing an entrapment and strangulation hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday.
The company has received 85 reports of bolts loosening in its "Wendy Bellissimo Collection Convertible Cribs" and a report of a 13-month-old child's hand becoming trapped between the railings, the U.S. safety agency said.
The cribs were sold at Babies "R" Us stores in the United States since July 2005 for about US$500 each, the government said. (Reporting by Julie Vorman, editing by Dave Zimmerman)
